The Key(s) to get Emma crawling...

The key to get Emma crawling is quite literally keys! Ben and I have been trying for weeks to motivate Emma to crawl...we tempted her with snacks and toys, even demonstrated how to crawl, etc. But the only thing that worked were my keys! Here is a short video of Emma's first attempts to crawl.

Memorial Day

We were so excited to let Emma splash around in our friend's pool, but she did not like it! Nope...not at all! She would curl up in a little ball in our arms and would cry when she got splashed. She was so scared...poor thing. We tried putting her in the water a few times, but it didn't help. We hope she will learn to like it...she loves her baths and her dad is practically part fish...so really, she should like the pool (at least, eventually).

Recent Family Photos

Emma was 9 months old when we took these photos. I didn't get to scan a few of them because they were too large 10x13 (which is my favorite one) or were already framed and I was too lazy to take down the frame from the wall and get it out. Sorry. Anyway, I hope ya'll like these McKee family photos. And I must mention that it was fun to get a pic of just me and Ben...that does not happen anymore.

I just had to take a picture! How sweet is my hubby?!!?! And dinner was scrumptous!...smothered steaks and bell peppers...and oj! :)

A Mary Kay Lesson

Last night I attended my second Mary Kay weekly meeting. And it started with the usual...lots of clapping and songs, and reports and gifts and rewards and food. But the last hour was devoted to a lesson that I found very interesting and valuable. We learned the "DISC" personalities. We began by doing the worksheet ourselves. I was definitely an "S."-supportive, stable, sentimental, shy, etc. Second, I was "C"-calculating, concerned, careful, etc, third, I was "I" influencing, impressive, inspirational, etc, and fourth I was a "D"-dominant, driven, demanding, etc. What I found really interesting about "DISC" is the idea that you should try to become equal in all of the personality types. I agreed that everyone contains some of all of these personalities (depending on the circumstances), but in order to become a well-rounded person you should try to become equal in all of them. I think that is a cool goal. I would love to come a bit more of a "D" while still keeping some of the good "S" qualities. I am so glad that I was able to learn about "DISC" last night because it will definitely help me in my Mary Kay business...it will help me to read people and understand what they are thinking and why they are thinking it. This will help me to know how to present products and ideas to them in a way that will appeal to them. Wow...I am learning so much!...and I have only just started Mary Kay! Yay!
And by the way...I want to be driving a PINK Cadillac SRX in 5 years!!
